- Build and ship experiments that improve monetization, host experiences, content understanding, and personalization for millions of users.
- Evolve backend systems — balancing quick iteration with code health and scalability.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, PMs, designers, and data scientists to shape and deliver high-impact features.
- Instrument and analyze experiments to inform the next iteration.
- Advocate for simplicity — making thoughtful tradeoffs to ensure solutions are maintainable and measurable.
Requirements
- 4–5 years of backend development experience with a strong foundation in languages like Python or Java.
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, DynamoDB).
- Think at a systems level, understanding tradeoffs in evolving legacy codebases.
- Build with a platform mindset: API contracts, shared infrastructure, distributed systems.
- Product mindset connecting backend work to business impact.
- Move quickly, iterate on MVPs, balance speed and reliability.
- Work cross-functionally with PMs, designers, data scientists.
- Collaborative, low ego, positive team culture.
