Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain high-scale distributed systems.
- Build core networking solutions, including load balancing, mTLS networking, fleet health, and observability for microservices.
- Enable internal infrastructure teams to operate products globally and at scale.
- Scope, design, implement, and deploy robust solutions while balancing reliability, throughput, latency, resiliency, engineering velocity, and cost.
- Improve resiliency, reliability, efficiency, and management at scale through software solutions.
- Contribute to team strategy, roadmap, tooling, processes, and culture.
- Set clear goals and provide regular feedback on team member performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or a related field and 5 years of post-bachelor's progressive software engineering experience; alternatively, a master's degree or foreign equivalent and 3 years of software engineering experience.
- 3 years of experience with cloud systems, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
- Experience creating technical architecture and designs.
- Experience building operating infrastructure and tools that empower developers.
- Experience developing software with Java and Go.
- Experience developing, maintaining, and debugging distributed systems using open-source tools.
- Ability to break down complex systems, identify optimization opportunities, and make data-driven cost-performance tradeoffs.
- Experience with Kubernetes, EC2, Envoy, Linux, and Puppet.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary: $221,187–$285,600 per year.
- Additional benefits may include equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses, 401(k), medical, dental, vision, and wellness stipends.
- 40 hours per week.
- 100% telecommuting permitted.
