Senior Software Engineer on the Platform Engineering team, designing and building shared data platforms, cloud infrastructure, orchestration systems, and developer tooling. Responsibilities
- Design and implement foundational platforms and systems in collaboration with stakeholders and internal customers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver features.
- Identify and drive improvements to programming practices, processes, and engineering tools.
- Present technical information to teams and stakeholders, providing guidance on development processes and technologies.
Requirements
- 3+ years of full-time engineering experience after graduation, specializing in backend systems.
- Extensive software development experience and a deep understanding of distributed systems and public cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
- Track record of independently owning successful engineering projects.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with containerization and deployment technologies such as Kubernetes, Terraform, and Docker.
- Experience with orchestration platforms such as Temporal and AWS Step Functions.
- Experience with NoSQL document databases such as MongoDB and structured databases such as PostgreSQL.
- Strong knowledge of software engineering best practices and CI/CD tooling such as CircleCI.
Nice to Have
- Experience with data warehouses such as Snowflake and Firebolt.
- Experience with data pipeline and ETL tools such as Dagster and dbt.
- Experience with authentication and authorization systems such as Zanzibar and AuthZ.
- Experience scaling products at hyper-growth startups.
- Interest in AI technologies.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary range: $216,000–$270,000 USD.
- Equity and benefits may be included for eligible roles.
