Responsibilities
- Independently process accurate, timely payroll for a defined client portfolio in Germany, including upstream and downstream activities.
- Serve as the primary client contact through ticketing systems and direct calls.
- Advise clients on German labor, social security, and tax law, providing pragmatic, legally compliant solutions.
- Conduct compliance reviews, identify risks, and ensure statutory requirements are met.
- Contribute feedback to payroll-system development, test new features, and help automate and improve processes.
- Collaborate with international payroll teams and occasionally support work outside standard German business hours.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of relevant German payroll experience, ideally in tax advisory, consulting, or a multi-client environment.
- In-depth knowledge of German labor, social security, and tax law.
- Strong client-service orientation and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple clients, and organize work effectively.
- Strong affinity for payroll software and tools.
- Business-fluent German and English.
- Willingness to provide occasional support outside regular German business hours.
- Experience with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office, particularly Docs, Sheets, and Excel.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with Salesforce queues, Jira, and Confluence.
