Customer Success Manager
Own a book of accounting and finance customers at Numeric, driving retention, adoption, and expansion for their AI-first financial data platform. Requires 5+ years accounting experience with deep fluency in the monthly close and reconciliations to build credibility with controllers and CFOs.
About the job
What You'll Do
- Own a book of customers and its outcomes. Accountable for gross retention and adoption across accounts.
- Run an AI-leveraged cadence: use agents for health signals, meeting prep, and follow-ups; focus on judgment calls and relationships.
- Lead QBRs that connect Numeric to outcomes the customer's CFO cares about.
- Build champions: develop multi-threaded relationships from staff accountant to CAO, create referenceable customers, and drive case studies.
- Detect and reverse risk: build automated early-warning signals, spot at-risk accounts, and run save plays.
- Make customers AI-native: define "adopted" for each product, coach controllers on AI-first close, connect agents to financials.
- Be the voice in both directions: surface expansion signals to Sales, route product feedback to Product, bring roadmap back to customers.
What You'll Bring
- Accounting Foundation: 5+ years of accounting experience with deep fluency in the monthly close, reconciliations, and financial reporting. CPA is a strong plus.
- Outcome Ownership: Graded against customer behavior (retention, adoption, time-to-value) rather than activity.
- Customer-Centric Mindset: Build real relationships; take churn personally.
- Strong Communication & Problem-Solving: Run tight executive conversations; diagnose broken reconciliation workflows.
- AI Fluency & Bias for Action: Build systems; use AI tools daily and expect customers to do the same.
Nice to Haves
- Prior customer success or account management experience at a B2B SaaS company selling to finance buyers.
- Hands-on NetSuite experience, or depth in another major ERP.
- Experience with multi-entity or multi-currency accounting.
- Experience running QBRs, save plays, or a structured account cadence.
What Success Looks Like
- Retention: Strong gross retention; churn is never a surprise.
- Adoption: Accounts deepen product usage quarter over quarter.
- Coverage: Every strategic account has a current success plan, recent business review, and multi-threaded relationship map.
- Early Warning: Risk flags are early and accurate; save plays have a strong track record.
- Advocacy: Book produces champions, references, and case studies.
