Responsibilities
- Process inbound and outbound material through ERP/WMS systems, partnering with procurement, construction, facilities, and operations teams to ensure quality, quantity, and timely delivery.
- Package, label, and manifest parcel, LTL, and large freight shipments, including high-value and sensitive equipment.
- Manifest consignments and schedule carrier movements with FedEx, UPS, DHL, 3PLs, and expedited couriers.
- Coordinate pickups and deliveries with carriers and freight forwarders; prepare shipping labels, packing slips, commercial invoices, packing lists, and other required documentation.
- Verify shipping information, including addresses, quantities, and delivery instructions; inspect and package products for shipment.
- Determine cost-effective and efficient shipping methods; track shipments, resolve delays and issues, and update tracking systems.
- Perform cycle counts and maintain inventory accuracy in shipping-owned incoming and outgoing areas.
- Lead problem-solving for transportation issues, including routes, delays, customs, and rush orders; maintain shipment system integrity.
- Operate forklifts and material-handling equipment according to safety procedures.
- Evaluate hazardous or sensitive materials and apply appropriate packaging and transportation methods based on SDS and specifications.
- Coordinate with internal material handlers and drivers to expedite material and avoid cutoffs.
- Maintain communication with internal requestors and destination teams and provide timely shipment updates.
- Identify process improvements and recommend initiatives.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
- 3+ years of shipping, logistics, warehousing, or materials management experience.
- Ability to lift 25–50 lbs. unassisted and frequently stand, walk, climb, bend, grasp, sit, pull, push, stoop, stretch, and carry.
- Availability for a 12.5-hour shift: 6:00 AM–6:30 PM or 6:00 PM–6:30 AM.
- Willingness to work rotating 4-days-on/3-days-off and 3-days-on/4-days-off schedules, including nights, weekends, overtime, and holidays as needed.
- Comfort working in warehouse and data center environments with varying temperatures and noise.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience with freight, expedited shipping, or high-volume manufacturing, technology, or data center environments.
- International shipping, export regulations, and customs documentation experience.
- Strong knowledge of shipping procedures, regulations, and documentation.
- Familiarity with UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager, MyDHL, or similar shipping software.
- Experience with ERP/WMS systems.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, multitasking, and prioritization skills.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Forklift or material-handling equipment certification.
- Hazmat awareness or relevant certification and knowledge of transportation guidelines.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel.
