Staff Applications Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain applications spanning desktop, web, and backend systems.
• Architect and implement API integrations connecting application layers to core engine and infrastructure services.
• Develop interactive features supporting 3D content, rendering pipelines, and graphics-driven workflows.
• Drive cross-platform application experiences for dynamic visualization and interaction.
• Own application reliability, performance, and diagnostic tooling across the stack.
• Partner with engine developers, infrastructure engineers, and product stakeholders on application architecture and priorities.
• Lead code reviews, drive technical discussions, and mentor engineers.
• Evaluate and introduce technologies in 3D, spatial computing, and immersive environments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 8+ years of experience building, maintaining, and owning complex software applications.
• Strong diagnostic and debugging skills across application layers.
• Proficiency in Python and C++.
• Experience designing and implementing API integrations.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to meet customer and government security requirements, potentially including background checks, citizenship verification, and Criminal Justice Information Services verification.

Nice to Have

• Experience in fast-paced or startup environments.
• AWS experience.
• JavaScript and/or Rust proficiency.
• Understanding of 3D rendering pipelines.
• Familiarity with 3D scanning, photogrammetry, or digital twin visualizations.
• Hands-on experience with React.
• Experience with WebGPU.

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary range: $140,000–$210,000.
