Responsibilities
- Set the Square-wide strategy for seller trust and manage the roadmap across Risk and Identity.
- Embed trust considerations across seller-facing products and experiences.
- Lead product areas including Identity Verification, Access, Disputes, and Controls.
- Own ambiguous, high-stakes Trust initiatives as a hands-on directly responsible individual while coaching senior product managers.
- Improve verification, limits, and remediation for legitimate sellers and reduce false declines.
- Drive accountability for Risk Loss Rate, Seller Trust metrics, trusted-seller access expansion, and ecosystem health.
- Define how AI reshapes Trust products and team workflows.
- Engage regulators, compliance bodies, and identity-verification partners.
- Drive execution across Product, Engineering, Compliance, Legal, and Operations.
Requirements
- 8+ years of product management experience, including leading and coaching senior product talent in complex or regulated domains.
- Experience originating strategy in ambiguous spaces and building platform or infrastructure products.
- Exceptional narrative and executive alignment skills.
- Direct experience with trust and safety, risk, identity, or compliance products.
- Experience managing regulatory requirements and compliance-driven product development.
Nice-to-Haves
- Payments or fintech product experience.
- Fraud prevention, identity verification, or KYC/AML experience.
- Experience with internal tooling and customer-facing product development.
- Familiarity with ML/AI-powered risk and fraud detection systems.
- Experience with identity verification providers such as Veriff, Onfido, Persona, or Jumio.
- Knowledge of global regulatory frameworks including FATF, AMLD, GDPR, and CFPB.
Compensation and Benefits
- ATS-listed annual salary range: $304,500–$456,700 USD.
