Responsibilities
- Manage an hourly workforce by assessing employee performance, providing feedback, facilitating conflict resolution, and addressing repeat issues through corrective actions, performance improvement plans, or disciplinary measures.
- Lead by example, take feedback from all levels of the organization, and motivate the team to achieve strong results.
- Monitor and improve operations while ensuring a safe work environment, with a goal of zero OSHA-recordable incidents annually.
- Manage incoming acceptance, storage, and issuing of parts, details, and hardware into inventory.
- Provide high levels of customer service by recognizing business needs and adapting operations to support organizational goals.
- Lead cost-saving opportunities and identify internal and external cost reductions and optimization opportunities.
- Ensure cycle-counting procedures are followed to meet internal and external audit requirements.
- Develop and maintain service routes and material replenishment processes for internal customers.
- Supervise local shipping and receiving operations and coordinate facility movements and critical point-to-point movements outside the facility.
- Drive projects and changes that improve logistics operations.
- Ensure shelf-life storage, stock rotation, and FIFO procedures are followed.
- Maintain effective environmental controls based on material requirements.
- Monitor and develop the workforce, ensuring team members are challenged and meet expected standards.
- Monitor and approve employee timekeeping records.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of professional experience in materials management, supply chain, or production/manufacturing; or 4+ years of relevant professional experience in lieu of a degree.
- 5+ years of experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) or inventory management software.
- Experience with material requirements planning (MRP) systems.
- 5+ years of leadership experience in materials management.
- Experience using WarpDrive.
- Excellent communication and team-building skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
- Experience in aerospace, aviation, or automotive manufacturing.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Ability to work in a high-stress environment and meet short deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to operate forklift equipment.
- Must be willing to travel to other sites, as required, up to 25%.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted and perform standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying.
- Must be available for 2nd shift, 2:00 PM–12:00 AM, Monday–Friday, with weekend work as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a leadership or rotational development program.
- Association for Supply Chain Management (APICS) certification, including CPIM or CSCP.
- Lean/Six Sigma experience.
- Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
