Engagement Manager

Drives customer success by leading professional services and training engagements from scoping through delivery and follow-up. The role combines customer-facing service sales, program orchestration, stakeholder management, and data-system implementation knowledge, with Japanese and English communication skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Drive customer satisfaction throughout the customer success and services lifecycle, from orchestrating engagement through successful delivery and follow-up.
  • Position, prepare, manage, and follow up on professional services and training engagements.
  • Partner with Sales, Field Engineering, Support, and Product teams on campaigns, programs, and content.
  • Lead by example and prioritize customers and company sales and delivery objectives.
  • Engage early in the sales process to understand customer needs, business goals, success criteria, and delivery expectations.
  • Identify opportunities for new services, including new use cases, upsells, and extensions of services.
  • Own Professional Services and Training bookings and revenue targets for the assigned area.
  • Articulate customer success stories, service offerings, and value metrics.
  • Analyze engagement scope, requirements, timelines, costs, and benefits.
  • Estimate, scope, and develop statements of work as needed.
  • Resolve delivery challenges, resource conflicts, scoping issues, and expectation gaps.
  • Present proposals that support project governance and scalable delivery practices to internal and external executives.
  • Orchestrate internal and external stakeholders for large initiatives.
  • Develop program plans aligned with customer success outcomes.

Requirements

  • Fundamental knowledge of end-to-end data-system implementation across technology, operations, and security/governance.
  • Production-level implementation experience as an engineer or project manager preferred.
  • Experience selling implementation, advisory, education, or change-management services.
  • Experience in senior customer-facing roles involving influencing, validating, negotiating, understanding, and executing with business and technology audiences.
  • Track record of identifying customer needs and implementing successful solutions.
  • Experience owning projects or programs using Agile Scrum, Kanban, and waterfall methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills for customer pain points using modern technologies, particularly AI agents.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Strong orchestration, service delivery, and program management skills.
  • Ability to synthesize customer success outcomes into structured program plans.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Japanese.
  • Excellent written communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience proposing projects or programs to customers at a consulting firm, systems integrator, software vendor, or cloud vendor.
