Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary strategic liaison between MongoDB's core product organization and its most important customers, ensuring their needs are heard, prioritized, acted upon, and addressed.
- Develop and execute a forward-looking customer advocacy strategy with the CPO and senior product leadership.
- Build and maintain relationships with executive stakeholders at strategic customer accounts, acting as a trusted partner and escalation point for core product concerns.
- Drive a structured customer-engagement process from qualification and discovery through executive narrative development, action tracking, and closed-loop follow-up.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Customer Success to surface customer feedback and translate it into product insights and roadmap influence.
- Lead preparation for and participate in executive customer meetings, shaping narratives, representing product commitments, and ensuring follow-up accountability.
- Establish technical fluency in MongoDB's core product portfolio to credibly represent capabilities and limitations.
- Define and track success measures for the CPO's customer-engagement motion, including quarterly outcome analysis and improvement areas.
- Contribute to scalable customer-engagement best practices for strategic accounts.
- Use AI tools and data-driven insights to identify trends, surface risk or opportunity, and inform executive prioritization.
Requirements
- 10+ years of work experience, or ideally 8+ years in SaaS product management, consulting, enterprise sales strategy, or customer success leadership.
- MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Strong business judgment, prioritization, and disciplined execution in ambiguous environments.
- Demonstrated success influencing product direction through customer advocacy, executive engagement, or voice-of-customer programs at scale.
- Executive presence and exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to deliver narratives to technical and non-technical C-suite audiences.
- Ability to drive cross-functional alignment and resolve conflict across Engineering, Product, Sales, Legal, and Customer Success.
- Strong problem-solving skills and experience translating ambiguous customer feedback into actionable product signals.
- Experience working in or alongside a product organization, with technical fluency in platform capabilities, integrations, and roadmap tradeoffs.
- Exceptional learning agility across new product domains, market dynamics, and customer contexts.
- Experience using AI tools and analytical platforms such as Tableau and Salesforce, or equivalents, to derive customer insights.
- Ability to manage multiple high-priority engagements, drive urgency, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfort with ambiguity and organizational change; action-oriented and adaptable.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% for customer and partner meetings.
Compensation and Benefits
- U.S. base salary range: $129,000–$253,000 USD.
- Eligible benefits may include equity, employee stock purchase program, flexible paid time off, 20 weeks of fully paid gender-neutral parental leave, fertility and adoption assistance, 401(k), mental health counseling, transgender-inclusive health insurance, and other health benefits.
