Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of scalable backend services for the SaaS platform.
- Own technical decisions across distributed systems, cloud-native workflows, and backend infrastructure.
- Drive performance, reliability, and observability initiatives across core platform components.
- Guide and mentor a growing team of backend engineers through technical reviews, goal setting, and career growth.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, frontend, and DevOps teams to deliver high-impact features.
- Make foundational decisions around backend technologies, frameworks, and system design.
- Establish and enforce best practices in software engineering, testing, and deployment.
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and fostering a strong engineering culture.
- Evaluate new technologies and help set the technical roadmap.
Requirements
- 8+ years of backend development experience with Java, Golang, C++, or similar languages.
- Proven expertise designing and scaling distributed systems and cloud-native architectures.
- Track record of technical leadership, mentorship, and team building.
- Deep understanding of data structures, networking, system design, and cloud scalability.
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, and performance optimization skills.
- Experience in fast-paced, product-first startup environments.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and ownership skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, or Redshift.
- Production experience with AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL systems.
- Exposure to SaaS platforms or developer infrastructure.
- Open-source contributions or engagement in developer communities.
