Build and scale AI-powered product experiences, integrating LLMs into Vanta’s existing systems while improving quality through evaluations, guardrails, and monitoring. Responsibilities
- Design and implement AI-powered features that deliver customer value and integrate LLMs with existing products and systems.
- Work with product engineers to identify how AI can accelerate product adoption.
- Instrument evaluations, guardrails, and monitoring, and review customer usage to improve quality continuously.
- Collaborate with AI Platform engineers on foundational AI systems and tooling.
- Make pragmatic tradeoffs balancing business priorities, user experience, and sustainable technical foundations.
- Mentor engineers and promote a collaborative, high-ownership engineering culture.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of industry experience as a software engineer.
- Experience shipping LLM-backed products, including prompting, retrieval-augmented generation, and/or agent frameworks.
- Experience designing, building, and scaling full-stack applications, including backend systems, APIs, and frontend interfaces.
- Familiarity with TypeScript, React, and Node.js, or willingness to learn.
- Experience improving AI systems, creating evaluation sets, and driving quality improvement.
- Experience mentoring engineers and collaborating with product and design teams.
- Experience working in rapidly scaling startups and large companies.
- Willingness to engage directly with users and contribute to product decisions.
