Senior Consulting Engineer
Provides architecture, implementation, migration, and high-tier support for enterprise ClickHouse customers in Japan. The role requires 5+ years supporting distributed database systems, public-cloud expertise, and strong customer-facing project leadership.

Responsibilities
- Serve on customer projects involving design, architecture, integration, implementation, documentation, research, benchmarking, performance and functional testing, reference architectures, sizing, migration, development, and tooling.
- Provide consultative support to strategic users, customers, and prospects during implementation, onboarding, production launches, and proofs of concept.
- Provide architectural, technical, and migration assistance, including hands-on work.
- Handle L1–L3 support cases and customer communications when not assigned to projects.
- Partner with Product Management, Engineering, and Sales on product roadmap and account plans.
- Develop public and internal documentation, knowledge-base articles, learning content, reference architectures, blogs, and benchmark results.
- Assist with hiring and mentoring team members.
- Participate in scheduling and on-call coverage for global 24x7 support, with up to 35% regional onsite travel.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Professional Services, Support, Technical Account Management, Engineering/SRE, and/or Project Management.
- 5+ years of experience implementing, operating, and/or supporting scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed database management systems.
- Broad and deep technical knowledge of DBMS, OLAP, cloud/SaaS platforms, distributed systems software engineering, Linux/Unix, Kubernetes, system or network administration, and big data.
- Experience leading and delivering large-scope technical projects with multiple experienced engineers.
- Expertise with a public cloud provider and its infrastructure-as-a-service offerings, such as Amazon EC2.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate in a customer-facing, globally distributed environment.
