Leads strategic internal communications for Airbnb’s technology organization, partnering with VP-level leaders and translating AI, data science, and other technical work into clear employee messaging. Responsibilities
- Act as a strategic communications partner to VP-level technology leaders, providing counsel, feedback, presentation coaching, and editorial guidance.
- Create executive communications, including leader-voice Slack posts and emails, thought leadership, all-hands narratives, organizational change communications, and short-form scripts.
- Translate complex technical and AI-related work into clear, compelling messages for technical and non-technical employees.
- Align Technology narratives with broader company priorities.
- Design and produce high-impact all-hands meetings, forums, and leadership offsites, including narratives, presentations, and presenter coaching.
- Serve as a trusted editor for internal communications channels, strengthening standards and scaling content quality.
- Lead or support change management, crisis communications, and special projects.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in strategic internal communications, editorial work, or journalism.
- Relevant degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to clarify dense material under deadline.
- Fluency with AI and technical subject matter, plus curiosity about product development.
- Experience counseling senior leaders with strong editorial judgment and news sense.
- Ability to develop and execute communications programs and campaigns, including planning, research, writing, editing, distribution, and measurement.
- Strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Google Slides and Keynote.
- Strong analytical, project management, organizational, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to learn new subject areas and client organizations quickly.
- Sound judgment, confidentiality, business ethics, attention to detail, urgency, and follow-through.
Compensation
- Base pay range: $160,000–$200,000 USD annually.
- May also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and employee travel credits.
