Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Airbnb’s legislative and public policy objectives, including advocacy priorities, positions, and strategies.
- Draft, develop, and execute integrated government relations, communications, stakeholder engagement, and mobilization plans.
- Review legislative language, draft comments, and research issues affecting Airbnb’s priorities.
- Maintain relationships with legislative, executive, and administrative offices, allied groups, coalition partners, industry associations, hosts, and other stakeholders.
- Represent Airbnb in meetings, public speaking engagements, and stakeholder events.
- Manage consultants and agencies supporting policy campaigns.
- Report progress accurately and regularly, escalating roadblocks and relevant legislation or data to leadership.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to align policy plans with business priorities.
- Monitor and track legislation and regulatory matters.
- Travel regularly within the assigned region.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience working with policy issues in a relevant business, political, governmental, legislative, or regulatory context.
- Relevant experience may include tourism and accommodation, e-commerce, internet or platform regulation, housing and landlord/tenant law, or tax issues.
- Ability to quickly understand complex technical and regulatory issues.
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects and navigate matrixed organizations with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, critical-thinking, planning, memo-writing, and budgeting/basic accounting skills.
- Proficiency with major computer applications.
- Creative, entrepreneurial, proactive, and results-driven approach.
- Excellent presentation, writing, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to exercise judgment, maintain confidentiality, remain poised under pressure, adapt to change, and resolve complex problems efficiently.
- Strong work ethic and professionalism.

Compensation
- Base pay range: $157,000–$174,000 USD annually.
- May also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
