Responsibilities
- Lead the product engineering team, including frontend, mobile, and backend developers.
- Design, guide, and vet systems within the broader product-development area.
- Scale the team by hiring, onboarding, and developing high-performing software engineers.
- Serve as a hands-on technical leader and effective people coach.
- Establish high technical standards through architecture reviews, testing, and an engineering-excellence culture.
- Enable the team to make decisions effectively and independently by providing tools, context, confidence, and motivation.
- Set clear expectations, conduct regular performance and development discussions, and provide feedback and coaching.
- Partner with Product Managers and cross-functional teams to define strategy, align processes, and deliver the product roadmap.
- Drive architecture and product decisions and consistently ship products.
- Own product quality and user experience while maintaining agility.
Requirements
- 4+ years of engineering management experience, with a proven ability to build high-performing teams and lead complex technical initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Proficiency in full-stack design principles and the ability to lead code architecture and implementation decisions.
- Experience coaching team members with varied skill sets and technical areas of focus.
- Experience leading agile software development and management.
- Strong organization and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
