Senior Software Engineer - UI

Responsibilities

Development & Implementation

• Lead development of complex frontend features using JavaScript, TypeScript, React, HTML, and CSS.
• Translate ambiguous product requirements into scalable, maintainable solutions.
• Own end-to-end feature delivery from design through production rollout.
• Improve UI architecture, application performance, and user experience.
• Integrate frontend applications with backend APIs and services.
• Collaborate on backend-for-frontend (BFF) and API-layer modifications.

Code Quality & Best Practices

• Write high-quality, maintainable, well-tested code aligned with engineering standards.
• Lead code reviews and promote coding best practices.
• Establish standards for component design, state management, and frontend architecture.
• Improve test coverage, performance, and accessibility.

Learning & Technical Growth

• Develop expertise in frontend architecture, performance optimization, and large-scale application design.
• Evaluate and adopt appropriate technologies and tools.
• Contribute to technical discussions and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Collaboration

• Work with Product, Design, and Backend teams to define frontend solutions, API contracts, and integration approaches.
• Break down complex technical problems into manageable tasks and guide execution.
• Mentor junior engineers and support their professional development.
• Communicate technical decisions, trade-offs, and risks effectively.

Production Ownership

• Debug and resolve complex production issues.
• Improve monitoring, logging, and frontend performance tracking.
• Ensure frontend application reliability, scalability, and performance.

Requirements

• 5 to 7 years of software engineering experience focused on frontend development.
• Expert proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Strong production experience with React and TypeScript.
• Strong understanding of frontend architecture, state management, and component-driven development.
• Experience building scalable, high-performance web applications.
• Understanding of browser internals, rendering behavior, and performance optimization.
• Experience with frontend testing strategies and frameworks such as Vitest, Jest, and React Testing Library.
• Proficiency with modern frontend tooling and build systems.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across development and production environments.
• Experience with REST APIs and distributed systems.
• Working knowledge of REST APIs, request and response flows, authentication, error handling, and data contracts.
• Ability to work independently and drive initiatives to completion.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with design systems or shared component libraries.
• Exposure to frontend observability and performance monitoring tools.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and cloud-based architectures.
• Familiarity with WCAG accessibility standards and implementation best practices.
