Responsibilities

Win Institutional Business

  • Own institutional business development for Japan, identifying, negotiating, and closing strategic deals across megabanks, trust banks, securities firms, payment companies, exchanges, and large enterprises.
  • Build and structure commercial partnerships across stablecoin issuance and payments, tokenization and real-world assets, on-chain settlement, and institutional capital markets use cases.
  • Develop senior relationships with Japanese institutions and convert them into concrete launches with clear owners, timelines, and usage paths.
  • Help build regulated pathways for stablecoins on Monad, exchange relationships, and the local credibility required by institutional counterparties.
  • Run deals with clear milestones, real product launches, and usage paths beyond announcements and vanity partnerships.

Establish Monad's Brand and Presence

  • Own Monad's go-to-market and positioning in Japan, building its reputation as credible, long-term financial infrastructure.
  • Build relationships with exchanges, enterprises, ecosystem builders, media, and regulatory bodies.
  • Represent Monad Foundation at a senior level with institutions, partners, and the local industry.
  • Monitor Japan's evolving regulatory landscape, including the FSA and JVCEA, and translate it into opportunities and constraints.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of business development experience, including 4+ years in blockchain, digital assets, or Web3, with a track record of closing large, complex institutional deals.
  • Deep understanding of the Japanese market and extensive experience engaging and selling to Japan's largest financial institutions and enterprises.
  • Senior network across Japanese banks, trust banks, securities firms, payment companies, enterprises, and Web3 companies, with access to decision-makers.
  • Strong understanding of how Web3 maps to institutional strategy, including stablecoin issuance, asset tokenization, and on-chain settlement.
  • Strong knowledge of Japanese corporate and regulatory direction on digital assets.
  • Ability to own initiatives from initial conversation through closed deal and live launch.
  • Native-level Japanese fluency and professional fluency in English, written and verbal.
