Business Development Manager, Rokt Ads

Own and grow partnership deals while building the Japanese advertiser pipeline for Rokt Ads. The role requires at least three years of relevant experience, strong performance marketing knowledge, native-level Japanese, business-level English, and frequent Tokyo office presence.

Responsibilities

  • Own designated partnership deals, such as referral programs, end to end: sourcing, structuring, negotiating, launching, and growing them.
  • Drive outbound prospecting and inbound qualification to build a qualified pipeline of Japanese advertisers for Rokt Ads.
  • Conduct discovery, address objections, and independently negotiate and close entry-level and mid-complexity deals.
  • Identify key stakeholders, build multi-threaded relationships, and involve senior business development team members in complex enterprise opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate forecasts and manage the book of business in HubSpot.
  • Use AI tools for account research, outreach drafting, localization, meeting preparation, and proposal creation.
  • Develop localized sales collateral and proposals for Japanese advertisers.
  • Refine sales tactics and share best practices with the team.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in sales, business development, partnerships, or performance marketing.
  • Experience in digital advertising, agencies, adtech, or martech preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to generate pipeline and progress deals through prospecting, qualification, and early-stage negotiation.
  • Working fluency in performance marketing concepts, including ROAS, CPA, attribution, and measurement, or the ability to learn them quickly.
  • Strong communication skills in Japanese business contexts and comfort engaging stakeholders at multiple levels.
  • Proactive, coachable, operationally disciplined builder mindset.
  • Native-level Japanese and business-level English.
  • Willingness to work from the Tokyo office at least four days per week and travel as needed.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Target total compensation: ¥15,000,000–¥25,800,000 annually, including fixed salary, variable quarterly compensation, equity, and benefits.
