Responsibilities
- Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, join, and aggregate data across large relational datasets.
- Clean, transform, and analyze data with Python.
- Explore datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and business opportunities.
- Build and maintain dashboards and recurring reports.
- Partner with product and customer success teams to turn ambiguous questions into answerable analyses.
- Investigate data quality issues and work with engineering to resolve root causes.
- Document data definitions, metrics, and methodologies.
- Present findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional experience in analytics, data, or business intelligence.
- Strong SQL proficiency, including joins, window functions, CTEs, and query optimization.
- Strong Python proficiency for data analysis.
- Experience with relational databases; PostgreSQL and Snowflake preferred.
- Working knowledge of Git, including branching and pull requests.
- Ability to independently scope analyses and proactively identify valuable investigations.
- Experience building dashboards and reporting used by stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with healthcare data, including claims, EHR/EMR, eligibility, clinical, or patient-level data.
- Familiarity with HIPAA, PHI/PII handling, HL7/FHIR, and ICD/CPT coding.
- Experience with hospital cost and operations data, including ERP, supply chain, purchasing, inventory, utilization, and charge data.
- Experience with dbt or similar analytics engineering workflows.
- Experience with BI and visualization tools such as Sigma, Tableau, Looker, or Power BI.
Compensation and Benefits
- Target base salary: $90,000–$120,000 annually.
