Responsibilities
- Lead the engineering strategy and execution for enabling customer AI agents to securely and reliably consume Twilio platform capabilities.
- Build and scale systems that power AI agents for Twilio’s internal business operations, improving efficiency and automation.
- Collaborate across product, platform, security, and go-to-market teams to identify high-impact AI agent use cases and deliver production-ready solutions.
- Hire, mentor, and develop managers and engineers across a rapidly evolving technical space.
- Establish clear metrics, perform roadmap planning, and ensure reliability, compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Acquire new technical skills and knowledge in a fast-paced, high-delivery environment.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience as an engineer writing production-grade code in a modern programming language.
- 3+ years of experience directly supervising teams of engineers across different disciplines.
- Experience fostering a culture of technical excellence and guiding teams through technical design decisions.
- Proven track record of shipping products to production, testing ideas early with customers, and iterating rapidly based on feedback.
- Strong customer focus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Passion for emerging technologies and staying current with their latest developments.

- Experience building a product from idea to product-market fit.
- Experience leading products or features that leverage large language models (LLMs).

Compensation and benefits
- Estimated annual pay ranges for eligible locations:
- Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Vermont, or Washington, D.C.: $207,200–$259,000
- New York, New Jersey, Washington State, or California outside the San Francisco Bay Area: $219,360–$274,200
- San Francisco Bay Area, California: $243,680–$304,600
- May be eligible for an equity plan and corporate bonus plan.
