Responsibilities

  • Lead the engineering strategy and execution for enabling customer AI agents to securely and reliably consume Twilio platform capabilities.
  • Build and scale systems that power AI agents for Twilio’s internal business operations, improving efficiency and automation.
  • Collaborate across product, platform, security, and go-to-market teams to identify high-impact AI agent use cases and deliver production-ready solutions.
  • Hire, mentor, and develop managers and engineers across a rapidly evolving technical space.
  • Establish clear metrics, perform roadmap planning, and ensure reliability, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Acquire new technical skills and knowledge in a fast-paced, high-delivery environment.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as an engineer writing production-grade code in a modern programming language.
  • 3+ years of experience directly supervising teams of engineers across different disciplines.
  • Experience fostering a culture of technical excellence and guiding teams through technical design decisions.
  • Proven track record of shipping products to production, testing ideas early with customers, and iterating rapidly based on feedback.
  • Strong customer focus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Passion for emerging technologies and staying current with their latest developments.

  • Experience building a product from idea to product-market fit.
  • Experience leading products or features that leverage large language models (LLMs).
  • A hands-on builder mindset, demonstrated through professional work or hobbies.

Compensation and benefits

  • Estimated annual pay ranges for eligible locations:
    • Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Vermont, or Washington, D.C.: $207,200–$259,000
    • New York, New Jersey, Washington State, or California outside the San Francisco Bay Area: $219,360–$274,200
    • San Francisco Bay Area, California: $243,680–$304,600
  • May be eligible for an equity plan and corporate bonus plan.
  • Benefits generally include health insurance, a 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, and paid parental leave.
  • Offerings vary by location.
