Negotiates pricing, coverage, and terms for commercial construction and casualty insurance policies. Identifies target accounts, performs risk analysis, and drives new business development with 7+ years underwriting experience.

Responsibilities
- Develop and negotiate price, coverage, terms and conditions for all new business and renewals
- Actively identify target accounts that fit Shepherd’s underwriting appetite
- Demonstrate success in marketing, producer management, new business development
- Successfully negotiate on all levels with both internal and external partners
- Conduct risk analysis with focus on construction and/or casualty underwriting
- Apply knowledge of compliance, coverage, products and pricing strategies
Requirements
- Minimum 7+ years of previous experience in commercial underwriting (Construction, Casualty, and/or Builder's Risk preferred)
- Strong work ethic, self-motivated, ability to manage multiple tasks/projects
- Exceptional interpersonal skills (verbal and written) and high EQ
- Strong sales and marketing skills to position accounts and close deals
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Teamwork, communication, and negotiation skills required
- Be adaptable and creative in a fast paced startup environment
