Responsibilities
- Own AV design, programming, testing, troubleshooting, and implementation across Gusto offices, meeting spaces, and event spaces.
- Author and maintain AV standards covering room tiers, signal flow, control systems, cameras, lighting, and event production.
- Architect and produce high-profile company, customer, executive, podcast, and other live events, including technical packages, show direction, and failure-mode planning.
- Lead the AV workstream for the Zoom-to-Google Meet migration, including room interoperability, hardware strategy, identity and policy mapping, and integrations.
- Own the multi-site AV capital roadmap, vendor relationships, office buildouts, upgrades, and integrator accountability.
- Administer Google Meet and Zoom room fleets, Logitech and Neat endpoints, and streaming and event platforms, including monitoring, dashboards, and firmware lifecycles.
- Serve as escalation support for meeting-space technology and events.
- Use AI and APIs to automate room health reporting, documentation, show-control logic, and vendor/RFP analysis.
- Coach IT support and event technicians on tier-one AV and event production; support in-house video production and document technical domains.
Requirements
- 8+ years of AV engineering experience, including senior-most or design-owning responsibility for a multi-site organization.
- Experience producing designs of record, including room tiers, signal flow, rack elevations, and control narratives.
- Experience technically directing high-stakes executive-facing or external live events end to end, including failover planning.
- Hands-on expertise with AV control programming, video switching and production, audio routing, audio boards, microphone systems, room tuning, lighting systems, DMX networking, meeting-room technology, streaming, cameras, show programming, post-production, and AV-over-IP network architecture.
- QSC control-system experience strongly preferred; Crestron, Biamp, and Extron experience is beneficial.
- Experience owning or materially driving an AV budget and managing integrator and manufacturer relationships.
- Ability to use AI tools, scripting, and APIs to build automation and documentation.
- Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, vendor-management, and influencing skills; calm under live-show pressure.
- Willingness to work hands-on in San Francisco, travel to Gusto sites, and support event-hours flexibility.

Compensation
- Targeted cash compensation: $185,000–$208,000 annually for San Francisco.
