Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end technical architecture for the S/4HANA landscape, aligned with clean-core principles.
- Define SAP extensibility strategy using SAP BTP and Databricks-native applications.
- Drive integration with enterprise AI transformation, including agentic AI services.
- Architect secure, resilient integration across SAP and non-SAP systems using SAP Integration Suite, APIs, OData v4, event-driven patterns, and change-data feeds.
- Partner with data engineering on SAP data ingestion, CDC, semantic and master-data modeling, lineage, and governance in the Databricks Lakehouse.
- Establish CI/CD, automated testing, transport and deployment pipelines, security patterns, and engineering standards for BTP artifacts.
- Lead developers and architects through mentoring, technical steering, code reviews, and design reviews.
- Own performance, scalability, security, resilience, and cost across the SAP landscape.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in SAP technical roles and 3+ years as a technical lead or architect.
- Delivery of at least one full S/4HANA program, including greenfield implementation or conversion, and BTP-based extension delivery.
- Deep hands-on expertise in clean-core architecture, custom-code remediation, in-app and side-by-side extensibility, released APIs, extension points, and governance.
- Advanced experience with SAP BTP, ABAP Cloud, ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model, CDS, CAP, and Fiori/SAPUI5.
- Hands-on experience or strong technical command of agentic automation, LLM orchestration, retrieval-augmented generation, and evaluation.
- Advanced experience with SAP Integration Suite, API management, event-driven architecture, REST, and OData.
- Understanding of modern data platforms, SAP data extraction and modeling, data pipelines, and semantic layers.
- Working knowledge of SAP authorizations, segregation of duties, SOX, and audit requirements.
- Ability to translate business requirements into architecture, communicate tradeoffs, mentor engineers, and make pragmatic technical decisions.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience building custom applications or automation layers on Databricks or other modern data platforms alongside SAP.
- Experience evaluating SAP BTP, AI Core, and Joule against Databricks-native approaches.
- Knowledge of SAP integration surfaces, CDS views, and SAP Datasphere.
- Experience leading Agile delivery with system integrators and managed service partners, including vendor and SLA accountability.
- SAP certification in BTP, S/4HANA, or a related technology area.
- Experience in a high-growth technology company scaling ERP systems.
Compensation
- Zone 1 pay range: $198,200–$272,600 USD.
- Total compensation may also include an annual performance bonus, equity, and benefits.
