Senior Software Engineer - Network Connectivity
Senior software engineer building and operating large-scale egress connectivity infrastructure using Go or Rust. The role requires networking expertise, distributed-systems experience, strong debugging skills, and participation in production on-call operations.

Responsibilities
- Design systems, write specifications, develop and review code using Git, create release plans, deploy production changes, and coordinate system actions with other teams.
- Participate in team meetings and collaborate across engineering teams.
- Participate in the on-call rotation and help maintain production-system uptime.
- Investigate and resolve customer issues escalated to the Egress team.
- Respond to questions in the team’s internal and public chat channels.
- Use AI-powered tools to analyze and extend codebases, inspect production systems and datasets, and accelerate problem-solving.
Requirements and Preferred Qualifications
- Programming experience in Go or Rust, with interest in developing expertise in both.
- Strong understanding of Layer 3 and Layer 4 networking protocols.
- Knowledge of HTTP, TLS, CDN networks, TCP/IP, and Internet routing.
- Experience implementing secure, highly available distributed systems.
- Strong debugging skills for complex systems.
- Experience or interest in HTTP networking, VPN technologies, network performance monitoring, and tuning.
- Experience building tools and APIs.
- Experience with monitoring, alerting, and debugging large-scale distributed systems.
- Experience participating in an on-call rotation.
- Professional systems-level programming experience in Rust is a bonus.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools is a bonus.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Willingness to integrate AI tools and systems into the engineering workflow.
Compensation
- Portugal-based hires: estimated annual salary of €66,000–€91,000.
- Eligible to participate in the company equity plan.
