Senior Software Engineer, Test Core
Build and operate the backend runtime platform that schedules, executes, and persists security and compliance tests at scale. The role requires strong production systems experience, ownership of complex projects, debugging expertise, and effective technical collaboration and mentorship.

Responsibilities
- Own complex projects from problem definition and technical design through implementation, rollout, and operation.
- Design and evolve backend systems, APIs, and data models used to run tests and process results.
- Improve the reliability, correctness, performance, and observability of the tests runtime.
- Investigate complex production issues, identify root causes, and build durable solutions.
- Simplify existing systems and improve abstractions and interfaces for other engineers.
- Collaborate across engineering teams on problems spanning multiple systems.
- Provide feedback in design and code reviews, communicate technical tradeoffs, and help engineers make sound decisions.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to engineering culture.
Requirements
- Strong experience building and operating reliable, scalable backend systems in production.
- Independently deliver complex technical projects despite ambiguity in the problem or solution.
- Strong systems thinking and fundamentals in backend system design, APIs, and data modeling.
- Strong debugging ability across correctness, reliability, performance, and scalability concerns.
- Make effective technical tradeoffs, take ownership of production systems, and improve mature systems incrementally.
- Communicate technical decisions clearly and collaborate effectively across teams.
- Openness to using AI responsibly to improve efficiency and impact.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with TypeScript, GraphQL, MongoDB, and observability tools such as Datadog.
