Leads a 7–10 person full-stack engineering team building next-generation Accounts Payable software. The role combines people leadership, product and technical direction, customer advocacy, cross-functional collaboration, and AI-forward engineering practices.

Responsibilities
- Build and lead a full-stack team of 7–10 engineers responsible for next-generation Accounts Payable software.
- Hire, onboard, coach, mentor, and support career development for engineers at all levels.
- Define and refine the team’s mandate, ownership, investment areas, and customer-focused priorities within the Payments group.
- Set technical and product direction, making tradeoffs about scope, sequencing, and implementation.
- Ship a reliable, competitive Accounts Payable product while balancing feature velocity with a durable technical foundation.
- Foster a people-centered culture based on enablement, trust, and context sharing.
- Partner with Design and Product on scope and delivery.
- Apply an AI-forward mindset to team development and operations.
- Translate customer feedback into engineering priorities and advocate for users in technical and product decisions.
Requirements
- Track record of engineering leadership building and scaling customer-facing products, including hiring and growing teams.
- Strong product sense and ability to make and defend product and user experience tradeoffs.
- Staff-engineer-level technical judgment and credibility across levels of abstraction.
- Strong customer empathy and advocacy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated coaching and mentorship of engineers across levels.
- At least 2 years of engineering management experience.
Nice-to-haves
- Accounts Payable or Bill Pay domain experience.
- Payments experience, including accounting, bill pay, credit card processing, banking integrations, or enterprise resource planning systems.
Compensation
- Expected salary range: $240,000–$285,000.
- Equity and other forms of compensation may be included depending on the position offered.
