Responsibilities
- Support the Senior Counsel with legal support for business regions or practice groups.
- Advise stakeholders on contract issues, compliance matters, and risk assessments.
- Help develop and execute legal strategies that protect and advance company operations.
- Draft, review, and support negotiation of commercial contracts, including SaaS, client, procurement, information technology, government, commercial leasing, and consulting agreements.
- Champion AI tools to improve legal-team workflow efficiency.
- Coordinate business disputes and assist with outside counsel management.
- Support the Senior Counsel and other attorneys in the legal department.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
- Active license or eligibility to practice law in Illinois or Tennessee.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in a corporate law department or business/transactional law practice.
- Experience with management, operating, technology, and procurement agreements.
- Ability to adopt and champion AI tools.
- Strong transactional and legal writing skills.
- Strong practical decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines in a collaborative environment.
- Ability to quickly analyze complex legal issues and communicate them clearly.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience drafting and negotiating SaaS contracts.
- Commercial leasing experience.
- Prior in-house legal department experience.
Compensation & Benefits
- Anticipated base salary: $150,000.00 USD–$170,000.00 USD annually.
