Policy and Partnerships Lead, CEE and Baltics, Global Affairs

Leads public policy and partnership strategy across Central and Eastern Europe and the Baltics, building senior stakeholder relationships and translating regional political dynamics into impactful AI initiatives. Requires deep regional and EU policy expertise, strong coalition-building ability, and English fluency with a CEE or Baltic language preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute public policy and partnerships strategy across Central and Eastern Europe and the Baltics.
  • Identify priority markets, issues, and engagement opportunities; develop differentiated country strategies.
  • Build and maintain relationships with policymakers, regulators, public administrations, civil society, researchers, business leaders, and other influential stakeholders.
  • Lead engagement on AI and technology policy issues supporting safe and responsible AI development and deployment.
  • Identify and develop partnerships, programs, coalitions, and initiatives that create regional impact.
  • Monitor political, legislative, and regulatory developments; surface risks and opportunities and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Connect national policy developments with EU-level debates, regulation, and implementation.
  • Represent the organization in senior meetings, industry forums, conferences, and other engagements.
  • Prepare leaders for policymaker and stakeholder engagement through briefing materials, policy positions, and recommendations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Legal, Communications, Product, Safety and Security, Partnerships, and Go-to-Market teams.
  • Travel frequently across the region, periodically elsewhere in Europe, and occasionally to the United States.

Requirements

  • Deep knowledge of the political, institutional, and technology-policy landscape across Central and Eastern Europe and/or the Baltics, with credibility in at least one priority market.
  • Established network and experience building trusted relationships with policymakers, regulators, civil society, and senior stakeholders.
  • Understanding of EU policymaking and the interaction between Brussels-level policy, national politics, regulation, and implementation.
  • Strong technology-policy judgment and understanding of AI-relevant issues, including privacy, data, competition, copyright, product safety, and consumer protection.
  • Track record of translating political relationships and policy objectives into impactful partnerships, programs, coalitions, campaigns, or initiatives.
  • Ability to work across multiple countries and political environments while balancing regional leverage with local nuance.
  • Self-direction and ability to manage multiple markets and workstreams through rapid analysis, decision-making, and execution cycles.
  • Strong stakeholder judgment, coalition-building, strategic thinking, problem-solving, project management, and cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical and policy concepts clearly and represent the organization in sensitive, senior-level settings.
  • Fluency in English; professional proficiency in at least one CEE or Baltic language strongly preferred, particularly Polish.
  • Sound judgment, intellectual agility, and outstanding personal integrity.
