Account Executive, Navy

Drive revenue growth by selling privacy and security solutions to the United States Navy. The role requires at least five years of customer-facing experience, defense or government-sector expertise, enterprise sales capability, active TS/SCI clearance, and willingness to travel extensively.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve or exceed annual sales targets by closing new business with the United States Navy.
  • Expand Cape’s footprint within existing government accounts through upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
  • Develop and execute account plans for Navy engagements, including relationship-building, opportunity identification, and long-term growth strategies.
  • Navigate government procurement processes and contracting vehicles, including the Department of Defense Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) and Program Objective Memorandum (POM) processes.
  • Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline through proactive outreach, relationship building, and lead generation.
  • Collaborate with marketing and business development teams to identify opportunities and generate qualified leads.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for government clients, ensuring clear communication, timely responses, and issue resolution.
  • Monitor industry trends, government initiatives, and the competitive landscape.
  • Provide market and competitive feedback to product and marketing teams.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in customer-facing roles such as account executive, customer success, solutions engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent government experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Ability to quickly develop and tailor scripts or technical solutions for customer deployment needs.
  • Technical aptitude and willingness to automate tasks as needed.
  • Experience in cyber operations, privacy, security, telecommunications, or a related field.
  • Enterprise sales experience, particularly at early-stage defense companies.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Active U.S. TS/SCI clearance.
  • Willingness to travel up to 75%.
  • Based in DC or New York; relocation assistance is available.

  • Washington, DC salary range: $180,000–$200,000, depending on experience and interview performance.
