Field Event Manager, EMEA

Build and own Exa’s first EMEA field marketing program, developing market strategy, account-based events, vendor operations, and pipeline follow-through across multiple European countries. The role requires 4+ years of B2B technology field or event marketing experience, strong sales partnership, EMEA market knowledge, and GDPR fluency.

About the job

Responsibilities

EMEA Program Strategy

  • Own the regional plan, including market prioritization, format mix, account coverage, and quarterly sequencing.
  • Build the plan with EMEA sales and support it with a pipeline rationale.

End-to-End Event Execution

  • Own events from concept through wrap across multiple countries, including venues, vendors, catering, production, invitations, run of show, on-site management, and local market details.
  • Deliver strong attendance from the right audiences and ensure high-quality execution.

Sales Partnership and Account-Based Events

  • Partner with EMEA sellers on target accounts, invitation strategy, in-deal events, and converting conversations into next meetings.
  • Generate meetings and build seller demand for field programs.

Pipeline Outcomes and Follow-Through

  • Manage lead capture, timely handoff, and follow-up with Lifecycle Marketing and Marketing Operations.
  • Handle consent and data practices in compliance with GDPR.
  • Improve conversion from attendees to qualified opportunities.

Budget, Vendors, and Compliance

  • Own regional budgets, vendor contracts, and negotiations across multiple currencies.
  • Manage GDPR consent capture, invoicing, and local requirements.
  • Maximize program impact per dollar while maintaining clean data practices.

EMEA Playbook and AI-First Operations

  • Document market-specific approaches, vendor relationships, and operational knowledge for future European hires.
  • Use AI for targeting, personalized outreach, vendor and market research, translation support, run-of-show generation, and post-event summarization.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of field marketing or event marketing experience at a B2B technology company.
  • Experience owning a multi-country European program rather than only executing another person's plan.
  • Strong event execution skills, including run-of-show planning, on-site readiness, and handling unexpected issues.
  • Genuine EMEA market knowledge, including differences in buyer behavior, venue norms, and attendance expectations.
  • Pipeline orientation and experience carrying or contributing to a revenue target.
  • Strong sales-partnership skills.
  • Ability to operate semi-autonomously while working with a headquarters team in another time zone.
  • Practical fluency with GDPR as it applies to event data and marketing consent.
  • AI-native working habits and the ability to demonstrate how AI reduces operational work.

Nice to Have

  • Experience launching a region from zero at an early-stage or US-headquartered company.
  • Additional European languages.
  • Experience running events for technical or developer audiences alongside enterprise buyers.
  • Experience negotiating conference sponsorships with major European technology events.
  • Experience running executive roundtables for senior technical leaders across multiple countries.

Benefits and Compensation

  • Monthly wellness benefit tiered by location.
  • Reimbursement for eligible egg freezing and related medical expenses up to a $15,000 lifetime maximum.
  • 16 weeks of fully paid parental leave for all new parents.
  • Regular visits to the San Francisco headquarters, which provides meals, snacks, coffee, and other amenities.
