Global Indirect Tax Manager
Own and scale Reddit’s US and international indirect tax operations across B2B and B2C transactions, including compliance, systems, audits, and cross-functional product support. Requires a bachelor’s degree and at least six years of hands-on indirect tax experience.

Responsibilities
- Manage Reddit’s global indirect tax function across B2B and B2C revenue streams, including US sales and use tax, VAT/GST, digital services taxes, and other transactional taxes.
- Oversee tax registrations, return compliance, payments, exemption documentation, taxability determinations, and related controls across multiple jurisdictions.
- Improve indirect tax processes and systems, including product and taxability mapping, exemptions, transaction testing, system integrations, data validation, and issue resolution.
- Partner cross-functionally on new products, commercial arrangements, billing changes, and geographic expansion.
- Monitor and implement e-invoicing, digital reporting, and real-time reporting requirements.
- Perform account reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, close activities, and internal controls.
- Advise on indirect tax provisions in customer and vendor agreements, invoicing requirements, and exemptions.
- Manage indirect tax audits, notices, and disclosures.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and assess their business impact.
- Develop scalable processes, automation, metrics, and documentation to improve data quality, reduce manual work, and strengthen controls.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Tax, Accounting, or a related field.
- 6+ years of indirect tax experience in public accounting and/or a multinational corporate tax function.
- Hands-on operational experience with US and international indirect taxes, including B2B and B2C transactions.
- Experience researching product and service taxability, registration and nexus obligations, place-of-supply rules, invoicing requirements, and exemptions.
- Experience supporting indirect tax compliance, accounting, audits, and controls across multiple jurisdictions.
- Ability to translate tax requirements into processes, data requirements, and system configurations.
- Strong project management, communication, organizational, and judgment skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Vertex experience, especially rule or product mapping, transaction testing, system integrations, configuration changes, data validation, reconciliations, and production troubleshooting.
- Experience with another enterprise indirect tax engine.
- Experience with indirect tax issues involving technology, digital media, advertising, subscriptions, SaaS, or other high-volume transactional businesses.
- Experience implementing e-invoicing, digital reporting, or real-time reporting requirements.
- Experience with ERP, billing, procurement, and financial reporting systems and large transactional datasets.
- Experience with automation or data tools such as Alteryx or SQL.
- CPA, CMI, MST, JD, LLM, or comparable professional qualification.
- Combination of public accounting and in-house experience.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary range: $154,700–$216,600 USD.
