Staff Software Engineer, Notifications
Owns the architecture and evolution of a high-reliability, multi-tenant notification platform, including routing, escalation, workflow orchestration, channel integrations, and delivery guarantees. The role requires production-scale distributed systems expertise, Temporal or comparable workflow experience, and strong cross-team technical influence.

Responsibilities
- Own the architecture and long-term direction of Command|Alert, including delivery guarantees, routing logic, enrichment pipelines, escalation policies, and per-tenant configuration.
- Define the integration model for outbound channels, including PagerDuty, Slack, email, SMS, SOAR platforms, Jira, ServiceNow, CommandLink ITSM, AI triage, and webhooks.
- Design and evolve the Temporal workflow layer supporting grouping, silencing, custom scheduling, business-hours windows, and guaranteed delivery under failure.
- Own long-running channel state, including alert volume, processing status, pending queues, and reliable message removal or clearing.
- Drive the subscriber configuration model for alert recipients, channels, and delegated delivery.
- Establish maintainable technical standards for integration development.
- Identify and resolve cross-team dependencies involving upstream classification, ingestion, and security-signal contracts.
- Mentor engineers and improve reliability and delivery correctness across the team.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience designing and operating high-reliability notification or alerting systems at production scale.
- Strong integration engineering experience with PagerDuty, Slack, email/SMS, ticketing platforms, SOAR, and webhooks.
- Hands-on production experience with Temporal or a comparable workflow orchestration platform, including long-running workflows and failure recovery.
- Experience reasoning about distributed-system state, delivery guarantees, and idempotency.
- Ability to make durable architectural decisions in ambiguous problem spaces.
- Track record of cross-team technical influence, including alignment on shared contracts or platform capabilities.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with AI triage workflows or routing alerts into LLM-based reasoning pipelines.
- Experience with multi-tenant SaaS platforms and per-tenant configuration.
- Security operations experience or familiarity with SOAR platforms.
- Hands-on experience with Kafka-based event pipelines upstream of notification dispatch.
