About the role
What you’ll do
Serve as the primary internal subject matter expert on emerging global regulatory frameworks outside of privacy and export controls—including DORA, NIS-2, CSR, EU Data Act, EU AI Act, CRA, DMA, and DSA—as well as various global antitrust and competition regimes and payments regulation
Lead and drive the strategic implementation of these complex legislative requirements, taking ownership of the centralized regulatory roadmap, triage process, and incident response playbooks
Partner cross-functionally to embed regulatory compliance by design into the architecture of the Data Intelligence Platform, Lakehouse, and agentic AI workflows, providing early visibility into regulatory blocker issues before they derail product launches or customer deployments
Partner closely with Product Legal, Commercial Legal and GTM Legal to unblock high-stakes enterprise deals and partnerships, draft specialized negotiation fallbacks, and build scalable, customer-facing collateral to accelerate the sales cycle
Act as the empowered regulatory point of contact on customer calls for white-glove and highly regulated customers (e.g., financial services and public sector), making decisions and proactively implementing new playbook fallbacks to maintain deal velocity
Work directly with Corporate Operations to operationalize regulatory compliance controls, bridging the gap between legal advice and business execution
Support strategic international expansion efforts, including navigating local AI and data regulations proactively and future-proofing for EU data sovereignty
Stay current on relevant legal developments and industry trends to offer proactive advice, training, and support to the business, while leading OKRs to continuously improve and scale processes related to regulatory compliance
Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders across multiple geographical locations to ensure effective communication and collaboration
What we look for
At least 8 years of experience at a nationally recognized law firm and / or in-house legal department, with substantial focus on technology, data, or regulatory matters
J.D. from a top-tier law school
Member of a state bar in good standing for U.S. candidates (or licensed to practice in Ireland for Irish candidates)
Demonstrated experience advising on global data, digital, and / or technology regulation; familiarity with frameworks such as the EU AI Act, EU Data Act, DORA, NIS-2, the DSA, or the DMA, or analogous regimes, is strongly preferred
Experience supporting SaaS, cloud, or data-platform products, and comfort partnering directly with Engineering, Product, and Security teams to operationalize regulatory requirements
Experience supporting commercial and go-to-market teams in customer-facing negotiations, including with enterprise customers in highly regulated sectors
Ability to understand challenging and novel issues, assess risk, and provide concise, actionable, business-focused legal advice and counsel
Ability to build strong and deep working relationships with internal stakeholders over multiple geographical locations
Ability to coordinate, prioritize, and manage deadlines, workflow, and execute in a fast-paced and demanding work environment
Self-starter with the capability to operate independently and to interact confidently with senior management when required
Strong work ethic, excellent organizational skills, and ability to manage many cross-functional projects simultaneously with minimal supervision
Compensation and Benefits
Total compensation package may include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and benefits
