Senior Professional Services Engineer
Leads customer-facing GitLab installation, migration, training, and advisory engagements across cloud and self-managed environments. The role requires infrastructure automation, multi-cloud, GitLab, project leadership, customer communication, and mentoring experience.

Responsibilities
- Deliver GitLab Professional Services engagements, including installation, migration, training, and advisory services.
- Plan and execute deployments from single-node Omnibus installations to large reference architectures using Infrastructure as Code and Configuration as Code.
- Lead migrations from source systems to GitLab SaaS or self-managed GitLab.
- Partner with Engagement Managers and Project Managers to improve delivery consistency and refine processes.
- Advise customers by translating goals and constraints into implementation plans and clear next steps.
- Collaborate with GitLab product and engineering teams to resolve customer issues and share product feedback.
- Mentor Associate and Intermediate Professional Services Engineers.
- Manage multiple customer engagements as a primary engineer or lead providing oversight.
Requirements
- Professional experience with Infrastructure as Code or Configuration as Code technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, Packer, Puppet, Chef, or Kubernetes.
- Professional experience with at least two cloud providers, such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure.
- Experience deploying or configuring GitLab, with a solid understanding of Git and source control workflows.
- Strong grounding in security and AI technologies.
- Experience delivering customer-facing installation, migration, training, or advisory services.
- Ability to independently manage projects and lead engineers on complex engagements.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to identify root causes, evaluate tradeoffs, and drive issues to resolution across multiple engagements.
- Ability to work effectively in a fully remote, asynchronous environment.
