Responsibilities
- Serve as primary customer point of contact, keeping them informed on permit status, timelines, and requirements.
- Provide training, coaching, feedback, and direction to junior team members; oversee their work, manage 1:1s, and empower team development.
- Oversee end-to-end permit application lifecycle: research requirements, prepare forms, gather documentation, and submit to authorities.
- Generate detailed reports on permit progress and deliver regular updates to customers and stakeholders.
- Optimize processes by identifying improvements, implementing best practices to streamline workflows and reduce bottlenecks.
- Ensure all permit applications are complete, accurate, and compliant with jurisdictional standards.
- Monitor and expedite permit approvals by tracking statuses and engaging with authorities.
Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of relevant experience in construction permitting, project management, or similar role (ideally in SaaS/tech).
- Strong understanding of permitting processes, regulations, compliance standards, and jurisdictional differences.
- Multi-state permitting experience highly preferred.
- Exceptional project management skills to balance multiple projects and deadlines.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration and customer relationships.
- 2+ years leadership experience preferred: leading, managing, mentoring teams, performance management.
- Customer-centric mindset with background in customer success or sales.
- Critical thinker and problem-solver, calm under pressure.
