What You'll Do
- Manage, coach and grow our team of IT Support Engineers — hiring, development, and performance
- Stay hands-on: set the technical bar, teach the team, and take the hardest escalations yourself
- Own our core IT systems and roadmap: identity and access, device management, Google Workspace, Slack and the rest of our SaaS stack
- Own IT vendor relationships, procurement and spend — negotiate renewals, cut redundant tooling, keep the stack lean
- Root out manual, repetitive IT work — and automate it away
- Run smooth onboarding and offboarding at scale for a distributed team
- Partner with our Security team on the controls behind our HIPAA compliance and SOC 2 HITRUST certifications
Who You Are
- 7+ years in IT support/operations, including 2+ years managing a team — with a track record of building and leveling up high-performing teams
- A player-coach attitude — happy both coaching the team and rolling up your sleeves to show what great looks like
- Strong customer service and communication skills — you set the tone for how the team treats end users, and teams across the company find you easy to work with
- Comfortable working directly with executives and senior leadership, including handling sensitive requests with discretion
- Deep hands-on experience with systems like Okta, Google Workspace, Slack, and Apple fleets managed with MDM tools like Iru (formerly Kandji) or Jamf
Bonus points if you have any of the following
- Startup experience — especially building or scaling an IT function at a fast-growing company
- Experience at a healthcare company, where HIPAA and patient data are part of daily life
- An infosec/security background
- Hands-on SOC 2 or HITRUST experience: implementing controls, gathering audit evidence, or running parts of the certification process
- Experience with compliance automation platforms like Vanta or Drata

Compensation
The expected base salary range offered for this role is $165,000-$195,000. This role is also eligible for equity, giving you an ownership stake in Pomelo’s mission. Actual compensation may vary based on relevant experience, skills, competencies, and certifications.
