Technical Account Manager

This post-sales role helps enterprise customers adopt and maximize Datadog through technical guidance, operational analysis, training, and business reviews. It requires customer-facing presentation experience, cloud expertise, scripting knowledge, and familiarity with CI/CD and containerization tools.

About the job

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and product-adoption guidance to customers throughout pre-sales, post-sales, and renewal processes.
  • Regularly analyze customers’ IT operations environments and recommend ways to maximize Datadog’s value.
  • Understand customer goals and use cases, then recommend process changes, product adoption, configuration, and additional features to meet their requirements.
  • Coach and train customer champions.
  • Prepare for and participate in monthly and quarterly business reviews with customers.
  • Collaborate with Datadog product management, engineering, and technical services teams to help identify new features and products.
  • Continuously evolve best practices for technical product adoption and customer success.

Requirements

  • Experience delivering technical and value-based presentations or demonstrations in pre-sales or post-sales environments.
  • Self-starting, technically proficient professional who can understand business requirements and explain Datadog’s value and technical details to executive-level leaders, technical experts, and other customer stakeholders.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Experience with scripting languages or tools such as Python, JavaScript, Ruby, Perl, Go, PHP, Chef, or Puppet.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab.
  • Experience with containerization tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, or Rancher.

Nice-to-haves

  • Development experience with Java, Python, Ruby, Go, Node.js, PHP, or .NET.
  • Customer support or customer-facing experience in the SaaS industry.
  • Site reliability engineering experience operating large-scale systems.
