Build and evolve Cardless’s frontend platform, consumer cardholder experiences, and internal operations and risk tools. The role requires 5+ years of frontend engineering experience, including 3+ years with React, plus strong component architecture, accessibility, testing, and cross-functional delivery skills.

Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the component library and design system with scalable, reusable components and consistent patterns.
- Build and ship consumer app features, including cardholder onboarding, account management, and rewards.
- Design and build internal tools for operations and risk teams.
- Take projects from concept through requirements, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Partner with product, design, backend engineering, partners, risk, and compliance teams.
- Improve performance, accessibility, observability, and developer experience across the stack.
- Contribute to frontend platform architecture decisions.
- Provide technical guidance to engineering peers.
Requirements
- 5+ years of frontend engineering experience building production systems at scale.
- 3+ years of React experience across consumer products and data-heavy internal tools.
- Strong fundamentals in state management, component architecture, accessibility, testing, and UI quality.
- Experience building and maintaining component libraries or design systems across multiple products.
- Ability to work across consumer, partner-facing, and internal applications while maintaining high-quality user experiences.
- Track record of delivering complex projects end-to-end in cross-functional environments.
- Clear communication, rapid learning, and willingness to teach others.
- Comfort working in fast-moving, ambiguous environments with competing priorities and deadlines.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in fintech, payments, fraud, or financial services.
- Familiarity with micro-frontend architectures or component library development.
- Familiarity with Next.js, Tailwind CSS, React Native, and Yarn monorepos.
- Working knowledge of API design and backend integration patterns, including REST and GraphQL.
- Familiarity with experimentation and personalization systems.

- Annual starting salary: $175,000–$275,000, plus equity and benefits.
