Responsibilities
- Develop scalable computer systems that manage large volumes of information and support business goals for Stripe and its partners.
- Design, implement, and deploy adaptable rules systems that use information to produce internal assessments, perform scoring, and derive automated actions to mitigate financial risk and improve the efficiency of Stripe’s global risk mitigation program.
- Design and build tools that ingest and process signals from various sources, making them more accessible to partner teams.
- Participate in all parts of the software development workflow and see projects through to completion, including large-scale deployment.
- Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes.
- Debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack.
- Design, build, and maintain APIs, services, and systems across Stripe’s engineering teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, plus 4 years of experience in software development or a related occupation. A 3- or 4-year U.S. or foreign degree is acceptable.
- 4 years of experience building software solutions in Python, Ruby, Objective-C, C++, or similar technologies.
- 4 years of experience designing, building, and maintaining scalable systems.
- 4 years of experience translating business needs into software requirements and designs.
- 4 years of experience debugging production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack.
- 4 years of experience with distributed systems.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary: $173,000–$259,600 per year.
- 40 hours per week.
- 50% telecommuting permitted.
- Benefits may include equity, company bonuses, 401(k), medical, dental, vision, and wellness stipends.
