Responsibilities
- Design new features and platform capabilities with teammates and customers.
- Build platform primitives including connector frameworks, orchestration, monitoring, authentication, and testing.
- Develop AI-powered tooling that helps the platform improve itself.
- Add and maintain integrations across 330+ telematics providers, making undocumented APIs reliable.
- Collaborate with integration partners to shape APIs, expand available data, and improve performance.
- Work directly with customers through demos, implementations, and troubleshooting.
- Deploy services using TypeScript, Node.js, and AWS.
Requirements
- Strong backend engineering experience shipping and owning production systems end to end.
- Ability to make difficult architecture decisions and work effectively amid ambiguity.
- Depth in distributed systems, including anticipating failures and debugging production issues.
- Experience building durable platform systems used by other teams.
- Customer-facing approach, including participation in demos, implementation calls, and troubleshooting.
- Strong Node.js and TypeScript skills, or ability to learn them quickly.
Nice to Have
- Serverless and event-driven architectures, including Lambda, SQS, Kafka, and EventBridge.
- Orchestration and workflow engines such as Step Functions and Temporal.
- JVM languages for collaboration with the data platform.
Compensation and Benefits
- Senior base salary: $185,000–$230,000 plus equity.
- Staff base salary: $220,000–$285,000 plus equity.
