Staff Backend Engineer - Grafana App Platform
Staff Backend Engineer responsible for evolving Grafana into a scalable, multi-tenant observability application platform. The role requires production SaaS experience, distributed-systems expertise, strong backend coding skills, and familiarity with or willingness to learn Golang.

Responsibilities
- Build new backend features and improve the operational experience of the systems you develop.
- Use production insights to iteratively improve systems.
- Author, contribute to, and review design documents.
- Help shape the technical roadmap.
- Mentor and support team members while collaborating across teams.
- Participate in weekday 12-hour × 5-day and weekend 24-hour × 2-day on-call rotations.
Requirements
- Strong coding skills and operational experience owning software in production.
- Experience building and operating SaaS platforms at scale.
- Experience with distributed-systems challenges such as scalability, multi-tenancy, data isolation, and high availability.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate across teams and align work with internal and external stakeholders.
- Pragmatic approach, prioritizing progress over perfection and handling ambiguity effectively.
- Familiarity with Golang or willingness to learn it.
Compensation
- CAD $186,368–$223,642 annually in Canada.
- Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) are included.
