Software Engineer, Growth

Build and optimize full-stack consumer growth features using React, TypeScript, Rails, and Go. The role requires at least two years of production software experience, API and database expertise, and a metrics-driven experimentation mindset.

About the job

Responsibilities

  • Build and ship growth-focused consumer features end to end, including React and TypeScript interfaces, backend services and APIs, and measurement experiments.
  • Collaborate with mobile, product, design, data science, marketing, and analytics teams to identify member pain points and opportunities.
  • Rapidly prototype and launch A/B tests to improve activation, conversion, and engagement.
  • Analyze post-launch feature performance to inform iterations and growth strategies.
  • Use metrics to prioritize work based on member and business impact.
  • Improve reliability, scalability, and performance across the stack, including client-side page load and funnel conversion and service latency and throughput.
  • Contribute through mentorship, code reviews, and technical best practices.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience building scalable software in production environments.
  • Experience with a modern front-end framework such as React and a server-side framework such as Ruby on Rails or Go.
  • Experience designing APIs and working with transactional databases and caching.
  • Experience with client-side state, performance optimization, and component-driven UI.
  • Ability to own features across the full stack.
  • Product mindset with a bias toward experimentation, iteration, and measuring impact.
  • Exposure to large-scale architecture patterns and clean, maintainable code.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary: $133,000-$184,000 annually.
  • Eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits.
  • Health, financial, and wellbeing benefits.
  • Backup child, elder, and pet care; subsidized commuter benefits for eligible employees.
  • Generous vacation and company-wide paid days off.
  • Annual wellness stipend.
  • Up to 22 weeks of paid parental leave for birthing parents and 12 weeks for non-birthing parents.
  • Family planning reimbursement.
