Senior Product Manager, Dock Hardware Platform

Leads strategy and execution for a drone dock and software ecosystem, partnering across hardware, engineering, customers, sales, and marketing. Requires 3–5+ years delivering hardware products with end-to-end software experiences and a technical engineering background.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategy and execution for the Skydio X10 Dock ecosystem across hardware and software.
  • Engage customers, prospects, and internal stakeholders to identify business problems and develop product visions and strategies.
  • Use customer discovery, ride-alongs, and analytics to prioritize high-impact problems.
  • Own and publish product requirements documents and roadmaps for current and future dock products.
  • Partner with hardware, firmware, computer vision, AI, and machine learning engineering leaders and designers to execute product vision.
  • Capture and synthesize customer and prospect feedback to influence product direction.
  • Collaborate with sales and customer success on customer relationships and enablement.
  • Partner with product marketing on launch plans, positioning, and messaging.
  • Prioritize reliability, scalability, maintainability, future-proofing, and the broader ecosystem experience.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of experience defining and delivering hardware products and associated end-to-end software experiences, with ownership of strategy, execution, and go-to-market.
  • Experience shipping robust hardware products in commercial, public safety, or defense markets, or strong interest in serving those customers.
  • Strong systems thinking and ability to balance product opportunities with ecosystem health, simplicity, and extensibility.
  • Interest in customer discovery, system scaling, reliability, data analysis, and hands-on product work.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Technical background enabling participation in discussions about architecture challenges and tradeoffs.
  • Background in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or computer science.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree or MBA.
  • Experience with drones, robotics, autonomous systems, or products operating in demanding physical environments.
  • Experience building product ecosystems with modular attachments or accessories and forward/backward compatibility challenges.
  • Experience with remote fleet management, high-availability systems, or unattended operation at scale.
  • FAA Part 107 certification; obtaining certification within the first 60 days is encouraged and required for certain positions.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Annual base salary: $196,000–$240,000.
  • Equity through stock options.
