Responsibilities
- Manage, mentor, and recruit a team of full-stack software engineers, fostering technical excellence, continuous learning, and collaboration.
- Partner with Product and Design to define roadmaps, plan sprints, and deliver user and customer configuration tools built on an identity platform.
- Oversee the technical strategy for migrating authentication experiences to new platforms, ensuring global availability and scalable user experiences.
- Align architectural identity investments with product-driven improvements and participate in technical design and architecture reviews.
- Support operational health through agile practices, technical debt management, code quality, testing, and production stability.
Requirements
- Extensive professional software engineering experience, including 2+ years directly managing or leading software engineering teams.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, another quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Full-stack development experience with Java or other object-oriented backend systems and modern web frameworks such as React, Svelte, or Ember.
- Strong understanding of identity fundamentals, secure session management, and authentication and authorization protocols including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWTs, and SAML.
- Experience recruiting, coaching, and retaining engineering talent, managing performance, and supporting career growth.
- Strong problem-solving, written communication, verbal communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
