Senior IT Systems Engineer
Own and evolve BioRender’s internal IT platform, including macOS fleet management, identity governance, lifecycle automation, and Infrastructure as Code. The role requires several years of modern IT infrastructure experience, strong automation and coding skills, and a security-minded engineering approach.

Responsibilities
- Own Client Platform Engineering for the macOS fleet using Kandji, including zero-touch provisioning, OS updates, compliance, and security baselines.
- Govern Identity and Access Management through Okta, including application integrations, SSO, lifecycle rules, SCIM provisioning, and automated access reviews.
- Design and implement automation for joiner, mover, and leaver workflows, evidence collection, and system provisioning.
- Lead AI enablement initiatives by integrating modern tools into internal workflows.
- Build and manage IT infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code and version-controlled systems.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, security, and leadership to communicate technical decisions and balance velocity with security.
- Establish engineering standards, operational practices, and systemic improvements for the IT platform.
Requirements
- Several years of experience building and operating modern IT infrastructure in fast-growing software companies.
- Deep hands-on expertise in at least two of: Mac management, identity and access governance, IT automation, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Programming and automation experience, with proficiency in Git, peer code reviews, and software engineering practices.
- Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code for SaaS platforms or identity providers.
- Track record designing automated user lifecycle systems and cross-platform integrations.
- Security-focused approach to compliance, access controls, and platform architecture.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Compensation and Benefits
- Hiring range: $125,000–$145,000 CAD annually.
