Engineering Manager - Custom Objects Team
Leads the Custom Objects engineering team responsible for scalable, extensible data models, APIs, integrations, and automation support within a CRM platform. The role requires substantial software engineering and engineering management experience, with expertise in distributed systems, architecture, reliability, and people development.

Requirements
- 8+ years in software engineering, including at least 2+ years managing teams that build complex, high-scale, product-driven systems.
- Experience with scalable, high-availability distributed systems.
- Demonstrated success mentoring engineers and developing leaders.
- Strong track record influencing architectural direction for multi-surface platforms.
- Preferable but not required: experience with GoHighLevel’s stack or similar, including Node.js/TypeScript, Go, GCP, Firestore, MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch, and ClickHouse.
Responsibilities
Team and Platform Leadership
- Lead a team of approximately 10–15 engineers building the Custom Objects platform, including backend services, APIs, UI integrations, and automation support.
- Own architectural direction, team outcomes, platform quality, and the future of the Custom Objects platform.
- Design, build, scale, and support flexible data models within a CRM.
Architecture and Extensibility
- Evolve the Custom Objects platform into a modular, reliable, extensible service supporting dynamic schemas, associations, and integrations across products.
- Build systems that allow customers to define, extend, associate, and use custom data objects with scale, performance, and safety in mind.
- Develop a distributed system supporting automation, workflows, reporting, and data relationships.
Execution and Reliability
- Ensure clear shipping timelines, high quality, observability, and operational stability as new capabilities roll out.
- Drive engineering excellence across architecture, reliability, observability, and performance.
- Ensure the team ships predictable, well-tested features and that the platform scales smoothly with usage, automation, and data complexity.
People and Collaboration
- Hire effectively, develop talent, mentor engineers, and develop future leaders.
- Set engineering standards and foster a psychologically safe, high-impact culture.
- Partner closely with Product, Design, and other engineering teams to define and deliver new capabilities.
- Establish clear APIs, documentation, and reliability guarantees for teams building on the platform.
