Engineering Manager - Integrations
Leads and manages an engineering team delivering reliable integrations, APIs, messaging, and data pipelines for mission-critical public safety systems. The role combines people leadership with hands-on architecture, technical delivery, and distributed-systems expertise.

Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on technical leadership for engineers building integrations between the core platform and mission-critical third-party systems.
- Lead delivery timelines for business-critical integrations while shaping architecture, reviewing designs and code, and solving complex distributed-systems problems.
- Coordinate with the US-based counterpart to align technology and business goals.
- Guide architecture decisions involving REST APIs, message queues, data pipelines, webhooks, and event-driven workflows.
- Lead complex integrations from discovery through production, translating ambiguous problems into technical approaches and executable plans.
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, prototyping, debugging, and targeted implementation work.
- Drive reliability, scalability, security, performance, error handling, testing, observability, and operational readiness.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, customers, and technical partners to define API contracts, integration patterns, trade-offs, and roadmap sequencing.
- Mentor engineers through coaching, pairing, feedback, and delegation.
- Manage engineers through 1:1s, expectations, feedback, career development, and inclusive team practices.
Requirements
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, including significant experience designing and operating backend services, distributed systems, and system integrations.
- Technical leadership experience on complex engineering projects, including architecture, design reviews, implementation strategy, and mentoring.
- Hands-on experience with APIs, webhooks, asynchronous messaging, data pipelines, Java, TypeScript/JavaScript, RESTful services, SQL/MySQL, and cloud-native systems.
- Experience leading engineers through technical direction, coaching, project leadership, and people management.
Nice to Have
- Experience in public safety, government software, or regulated domains.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, observability tooling, and cloud-native practices.

Work Arrangement and Other Requirements
