Partnership Manager, News and Media

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage relationships with beat reporters, newsroom audience teams, publisher leadership, independent journalists, and other news-industry stakeholders.
  • Guide news and media partners through Bluesky and the AT Protocol to help them grow their audiences.
  • Establish programmatic partner activations and own planning and execution for in-person and digital campaigns.
  • Work cross-functionally with product, marketing, and communications to translate partner insights into recommendations and advocate for news partners internally.
  • Define success metrics, track partnership inputs and outputs, and report on performance to inform priorities and resource allocation.
  • Use data to develop engagement strategies and identify opportunities to better serve news publishers.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in content partnerships, audience development, or business development within news or media.
  • Deep knowledge of the news ecosystem and established industry relationships.
  • Experience working in high-velocity startup environments.
  • Strong understanding of social media and internet culture.
  • Track record of leading campaigns that improved awareness, sentiment, or growth.
  • Ability to operate autonomously, move quickly, and deliver results in ambiguous or rapidly changing environments.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with Bluesky, AT Protocol, or decentralized social networks.
  • Experience with the commercial side of the content industry.
  • Direct experience working at a newsroom or publication.
  • Portfolio of partnership campaigns.

Compensation

  • Anticipated contract range: $100–$110 per hour USD.
  • Base pay range: $90–$100 per hour.
